April 28, 2010

Meeting was called to order by Chairman Brad Markwood with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present: Brian Oliver, Brad Markwood, Randy Beyer

Absentee:  None

Visitors: Nick & Louise Winegardner Zoning Inspector, Kevin Dailey Fire Department, and Dick Bennett Shelly Company.

Minutes of the last meeting were read as approved.

BIDS: Mr. Markwood made a motion to approve all three bids, Shelly Co. Thornville, Shelly Materials, Inc. Lancaster, and Shelly Materials, Inc. East Fultonham.

Mr. Beyer seconded the motion.  Motion approved 3 yes votes.

COMMUNICATIONS:  Fiscal officer handed out an Equipment Maintenance Management Program from the State of Ohio.  Trustees reviewed the information.

Fiscal officer also reported to the trustees that the Ohio Issues Report for 2010 has been posted to the Ohio Secretary of State’s Web site.   This report gives Ohio voters an opportunity to review the full text and ballot language of the state issues that will appear on the May 4, 2010 Ohio ballot.


7:23 PM Adjourn meeting to executive session.  Roll call was taken Markwood, Beyer, Oliver.

7:40 PM Original meeting called to order.  Roll call was taken Markwood, Beyer, and Oliver.

FIRE DEPARTMENT:   Mr. Dailey reported on a lawn mower from John Deere.  Trustees felt it would be too expensive to go in that direction.  Asked Mr. Dailey to check into one for under $2,000.

ZONING REPORT:   Mr. Winegardner reported that they had 5 permits for the Month of April.   Mr. Winegardner asked the Trustees if he should go ahead and send out a letter to Mr. Gabe Starner.  Trustees felt that he should and that they would back him on the letter.

OLD BUSINESS:  Mr. Markwood passed out the flyers for the township cleanup day.  It will be held on Saturday May 15th, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  Drop off site will be the township fire department.

NEW BUSINESS:   Trustees discussed spring cleanup for the community.  They decided on May 15th from 8:00 A.M. till 12:00.

Trustees also discussed bid openings for road work.  They decided on the April 28th meeting to open the bids.

ROAD DEPARTMENT:   Mr. Oliver talked some on the security camera that we want to get for the Township Barn.

ROAD DEPARTMENT:   Trustees discussed the roads and which one(s) they want to work on this summer.  They will try to get with Shelly Company as soon as possible so they can get started soon.

TREASURER’S REPORT RECEIVED:  All bills were read and discussed, with a motion by Mr. Beyer, seconded by Mr. Oliver to approve payment of bills in the amount of $2,498.74 and payroll/charges in the amount of $9,619.99.

I, Nancy R Myers, fiscal Officer certify that funds have been lawfully appropriated to meet the above expenditures.

A motion was made by Mr. Oliver to adjourn the meeting.  Mr. Beyer seconded the motion which was approved with 3 yes votes.
